Lower Plenty Liquor

Lower Plenty, Melbourne

Lower Plenty Liquor is a contemporary retail and hospitality hybrid that redefines the traditional bottle shop experience through materiality, atmosphere, and flexibility of use.

Spanning approximately 275m² across a single level, the space integrates a bar within a retail environment—allowing customers to move seamlessly between browsing, purchasing, and socialising. The layout supports both quick, functional visits and more considered, experiential engagement.

The interior draws on a rich Australiana palette, anchored by messmate timber with distinctive black veining. Perforated metal elements are used to filter light throughout the space, casting shadows that reference the dappled effect of trees across the floor and joinery. Subtle hints of green are introduced to define product categories and highlight social zones, reinforcing both clarity and atmosphere.

Designed to accommodate multiple modes of access, the store offers both drive-through convenience and in-store collection, responding to the varied needs of a local customer base. This dual approach positions the project as both highly practical and experience-driven.

Located within a new retail development alongside major supermarket amenities, Lower Plenty Liquor establishes itself as a key destination within the precinct. It serves a broad local audience, delivering a considered environment that elevates everyday retail into something more engaging and community-oriented.
